Family K. and Family S.

Kyiv oblast

housing

Two displaced families lost housing for the second time. Their homes in Kyiv oblast are now unsafe to live in.

Their story

Family K. and Family S. had already lost their homes in Donetsk oblast after 2014. After years of rebuilding their lives in Kyiv oblast, they lost housing again after a recent missile / drone strike hit the area.

Two private houses were badly damaged. Both homes belong to displaced families, and both are now unsafe to live in.

The families are applying for state and humanitarian support, but this takes time. Right now, they need support for the first period after losing housing again: temporary accommodation, basic household items, bedding, clothing, medicine, legal support, documents, transport, and urgent everyday expenses.

This is not a fundraiser for rebuilding the houses. It is bridge support for the first months, while the families wait for longer-term assistance.

What this donation buys

  • Temporary housing for two families for three months$2400
  • Bedding, clothing, and basic household items$850
  • Medicine, legal support, documents, transport, and urgent expenses$750
Total$4000

I confirmed the damage and the current housing situation with both families. The immediate need is not reconstruction, but support for the first period after the strike, while they apply for longer-term assistance.
